Boston Shines with WRSE Planting Team
for Earth Day 2010
Flowers beautify Centre Street
On a brisk Friday morning in April about a dozen volunteers, including a number of youngsters enjoying school vacation week, gathered at the Hastings Street parking lot to choose a flat of flowers and head off to beautify the Centre Street tree wells. All received free WRSE T-shirts and Boston Shines gardening gloves provided by the City. Many thanks to Chris Tracy, Neighborhood Services rep for West Roxbury, for organizing the Boston Shines event, for supplying tools and funds for the flowers, and for ensuring a Parks Department watering truck showered the newly planted osteospermums, impatiens, and dusty millers up and down Centre Street the following day.
